He took me in after hours to see me upon an emergency referral from my organ transplant specialist. My brother’s wife was treated and cured of breast cancer by Regional Cancer Care Associates of Freehold. When my family doctor detected leukemia during my annual checkup and I told my brother the results — it was a no brainer. He drove me to RCCA where I connected with Dr Gurpreet Lamba who determined that I had Acute Myeloid Leukemia, the very most dangerous form of the disease. According to Medical News Today, the 5 year survival rate for men over 70 is only 5 to 10 percent. For those diagnosed. the median overall survival is generally only 6 to 12 months, with only 5 to 10 percent of those surviving past the 1 year mark. I am 79 years old and am now in my 5th year under Dr. Lamba’s care. He has been a blessing and I give him full credit for my being here today. He has been so much more than just a doctor. He is a friend who has been with and guided me all along the way. He has helped get me through hurdles, such as covid. He put me on state of the art meds such as Venclexta and has carefully monitored and administered my chemo treatments and advised various supplements to help my body as needed. I cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone needing help with leukemia.Posted on Google![]()

I am very pleased with the interaction with Dr. Lamba. He is very knowledgeable and has great understanding of the issues that I am having. I would highly recommend Dr. Lamba for any hematology related issues.
Like many other oncologists with RCCA, Dr. Lamba does not specialize in treating any specific type of cancer. Instead, he works with patients to treat a wide range of diagnoses. Solid tumor malignancies he commonly works with include:
He also works with an array of blood malignancies such as leukemias, lymphomas, and multiple myeloma, in addition to benign blood disorders.
Dr. Lamba’s treatment philosophy prioritizes compassion. He works closely with patients and their loved ones, listening to their hopes and concerns to design a care plan that meets their unique needs. These care plans are centered on evidence-based treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bispecific antibodies to achieve the best results.
In addition to treating patients. Dr. Lamba is also heavily involved in education. He routinely trains fellows and residents, preparing future oncologists for success in the field.
Dr. Lamba has worked in oncology since 2014. During his career and prior education, he has earned numerous awards for the quality of care he provides.
He is also a member of multiple local, national, and international medical organizations, including:
These memberships are valuable for collaboration with other medical professionals. Through them, Dr. Lamba gains access to medical journals, cutting-edge research, and continuing education, which empower him to deliver a higher level of care for his patients.

Dr. Lamba became a physician to combine his love of science with his passion for caregiving. “I chose hematology and oncology for the opportunity to form meaningful relationships,” he adds. This field is unique for the strong connections that are formed between physicians and their patients. To him, this is what makes his work meaningful.
Dr. Lamba’s choice is reflected in his approach to care. “I strive to combine the best science with genuine compassion,” he explains. “My philosophy of care is to provide evidence-based treatments with honesty, compassion, and respect.” When planning cancer care, he listens closely to his patients to ensure their needs and values are met. He also educates patients and their families on what to expect from every stage of care, so that they feel supported in their journeys.
To Dr. Lamba, this support is a crucial part of treatment. A cancer diagnosis is overwhelming, and patients may feel confused or frightened. He strives to guide and walk with them through every step of the journey, ensuring that patients are never alone.
In return, Dr. Lamba has the opportunity to watch patients respond and improve. Every small victory makes his work feel more meaningful, and patients teach him important lessons about resilience and hope in the face of challenging circumstances.
In the field of cancer care, hope is stronger now than ever before. Treatments are rapidly evolving with new options that deliver improved outcomes. Breakthroughs in genomics and immunotherapy allow oncologists to personalize treatments to each patient’s unique condition, eliminating cancer cells while reducing side effects. Not only are these more effective at treating cancer, but they also lead to a better quality of life during and after treatment. In Dr. Lamba’s words, “it is a truly transformative time in oncology and hematology.”
Dr. Lamba serves patients at three RCCA locations in New Jersey: Freehold, and Tom’s River.
He also maintains multiple affiliations with community and university hospitals throughout the region. His affiliations include:
