About Merieme Klobocista, MD
Dr. Klobocista became a doctor because she believed it was her calling. She wanted to help people, especially other women, and saw medicine as the best way to do so. This passion led her to train in gynecology and oncology.
After completing her fellowship at the University of Southern California, Dr. Klobocista returned to her native northeast. She joined the teaching staff at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, where she was actively involved in teaching and training medical students, residents and fellows. She also established a robust practice in which she developed an interest in rare uterine tumors.
Dr. Klobocista spent five years as an Assistant Professor before joining the RCCA team.. She routinely contributes to research in gynecologic malignancies and has authored multiple publications on the subject. She also maintains a surgical practice that provides both traditional open surgery and minimally invasive surgery, using advanced robotic capabilities to maximize success.
When treating patients, Dr. Klobocista treats them as she would treat her own family members. She delivers the highest level of care and makes an extra effort to establish relationships. Not only does this approach enable more personalized care, but it is also rewarding for Dr. Klobocista. “I have the privilege of meeting and taking care of many different people,” she says.
To patients beginning cancer treatment, Dr. Klobocista urges them to remember that “there is always hope.” The field of oncology has made tremendous strides in treating gynecological cancers, leading to better outcomes and a higher quality of life for patients.
