When you or a loved one is diagnosed with cancer, receiving care that is tailored to your individual needs is crucial to achieving the best possible outcome. That’s exactly what we offer at Regional Cancer Care Associates. Here’s a look at how we personalize cancer treatment to each patient.
It all begins prior to your initial consultation. Upon learning your diagnosis and scheduling your first appointment at Regional Cancer Care Associates, we will ask you to send us your medical records in advance. That way, we can begin to review your case before you even arrive at one of our 30 locations across New Jersey, Connecticut and Maryland. We’ll be prepared to welcome you into a supportive environment, and we’ll have a clear idea of what your personalized cancer treatment plan may entail.
During your first appointment, our focus is all about understanding your personal needs. You will receive a physical examination by one of our oncologists, who will also discuss your diagnosis, medical history, family history of the disease and probable cancer treatment plan. The doctor also will answer any questions you may have.
To determine which treatments are best suited for your individualized situation, your doctor will order blood tests, biopsies and other types of tests. If necessary, medical imaging scans, such as with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT), will be ordered for further analysis at a later date.
Upon receiving the results of your tests, we will call you to schedule your treatment regimen. Completely personalized to you, your treatment may include one or more of the following services from Regional Cancer Care Associates, all of which are performed using the most advanced methods and state-of-the-art technologies:
The final step before starting treatment involves a one-on-one educational session with your oncologist and team of specialists. Since Regional Cancer Care Associates understands how powerful the right information can be for a patient during this battle, we empower every individual fighting cancer with the resources and support they need to prevail.
Regardless of the type of cancer or its stage, all our treatment plans follow the principles of Oncology Medical Home (OMH), a patient-centered model of care that sets an exacting standard of excellence. Because Regional Cancer Care Associates adheres to the following OMH tenets, you’ll receive science-based care for your cancer in a highly supportive environment:
