Dr. Abdo-Matkiwsky’s medical career is driven by her curiosity and her passion for helping people. “Oncology is scientifically challenging,” she explains, describing its impact on the human body in addition to the new therapies that are always emerging. “It also gives me a deep sense of purpose.” Hematologists and oncologists support patients through extremely vulnerable periods of life, fostering deep relationships that are emotionally rewarding.

“I am privileged to have some of the strongest, most steadfast, most inquisitive patients,” says Dr. Abdo-Matkiwsky. She adds that she has learned to pay attention to what patients have to say.
