The long-time director of hematology oncology at Riverview Medical Center, Dr. Denis Fitzgerald, has been in practice in the Monmouth County area for the past 30 years. Dr. Fitzgerald has extensive clinical and administrative experience in all phases of cancer treatment, including clinical trials, combined modality therapy and extensive experience working collaboratively with the renowned breast cancer team at Riverview Medical Center. Dr. Fitzgerald has a medical license in New Jersey. Over the years he has conducted research and had several articles published in peer-reviewed journals, and served in several leadership roles, including on executive, excellence, and professional care committees. He values his position as a primary medical oncologist at RCCA for the opportunity it presents to serve his patients as a primary gatekeeper through the treatment process, noting that working with them during a very stressful time in their lives and helping them through their journeys is very rewarding.
