Joseph M. Pepek, M.D.
As the author of a multitude of peer-reviewed journal articles, Dr. Pepek brings a wealth of experience to Regional Cancer Care Associates. His research delving into the field of oncology has been presented at numerous scientific conferences across the country.
He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he was a member of the NCAA Division I varsity baseball team. Dr. Pepek then attended Georgetown’s School of Medicine and received his medical degree.
It was then that duty called Dr. Pepek. He joined the United States Navy as a medical officer. During this time, he completed a surgical internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, before being deployed to Iraq with the U.S. Navy Seabees during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Later, Dr. Pepek served as the medical officer for the Marine Corps Chemical Biological Incident Response Force.
Following his military service, Dr. Pepek enrolled at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. He also completed his residency in radiation oncology at Duke, serving as chief resident.
