Dr. Philip A. Pancari
Board-Certified: Internal Medicine, Hematology, Medical Oncology
“Having had the privilege of treating thousands of patients during my hematology/oncology training at Fox Chase Cancer Center, as well as for years thereafter as academic faculty, I have found that no diagnosis but “cancer” tends to alter a life so thoroughly or abruptly. I believe that an essential part of the patient-oncologist relationship rests on the ability of the physician to recognize the frequently overwhelming nature of such a diagnosis, and to do whatever possible to help patients regain the life and sense of well-being they’d had prior to their illness.
As an oncologist I’ve been given the opportunity to work with people throughout this often-difficult chapter of their lives, and I have the benefit of offering them an ever-increasing arrayof novel therapeutic approaches: treatments such as targeted oral options and immunotherapies which increasingly acknowledge that cancer diagnoses are as distinct and unique as the patients themselves. I aspire to personally guide each patient not only to his or her best possible clinical outcome, but also to make the journey one of comfort, confidence, and empowerment.”
