Hematology

Our fellowship-trained hematologists have the knowledge, compassion and extensive experience to diagnose and help you manage cancers of the blood and blood-forming tissues.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy refers to a set of powerful drugs that attack and kill cancer cells.

Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy strengthens your immune system and gives it the tools and the power it needs to kill off cancer cells and get you on the road to recovery.

Targeted Therapy

Targeted therapy uses special drugs that target cancer cells directly to disrupt the way cancer develops and keep the cancer cells from growing.

Infusion Therapy

Infusion therapy refers to a drug treatment given intravenously, in contrast to taking pills, liquids, topical formulas, or other methods.

Genetic testing

By studying a patient’s genes, doctors can sometimes learn more about his or her chances of developing the disease and it can offer insights into how to prevent and successfully treat cancer in some cases.

Radiation therapy

Radiation therapy is one of the main treatments for many different cancers. This treatment uses high-energy rays to destroy cancer cells or slow their growth.

Surgery

While the thought of surgery might seem frightening, it remains one of the most effective methods for diagnosing and treating cancer today.

Blood & Marrow Transplantation

Stem-cell transplantation can help a patient produce new blood-forming cells after radiation or chemotherapy treatments. In some patients with leukemia or multiple myeloma, stem-cell transplantation can directly affect the cancer.

Cryotherapy

Translating to “cold therapy,” cryotherapy uses liquid nitrogen to produce extremely frigid temperatures and eliminate abnormal tissue and cancer cells.

Hormone Therapy

Hormone therapy works in one of two ways: It will either suppress the body’s ability to make the hormones that feed certain cancers, or it will interfere with how those hormones behave.

Radiosurgery

Radiosurgery is a type of surgery where the patient’s tumor is attacked from the outside of the body using high-dose, precision-focused radiation beams.
