She is one of more than 60 nurses out of hundreds to be named a Star Nurse finalist. Finalists are nominated by patients, family members, peers and members of the community for demonstrating nursing excellence.\nEach year, The Washington Post and American Nurses Association recognize and celebrate nurses working in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. The finalists are selected from a pool of women and men who work on the front lines of health and represent the epitome of skill, professionalism and care.\nFrom the 2021 Star Nurses, six will receive the Nightingale Award. The award will be presented May 26 to two nurses from each state and the District of Columbia.\nWith more than 125 cancer specialists practicing at 20+ care centers located throughout New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and the Washington, D.C. area, RCCA provides care to roughly 24,500 new cancer patients and 245,000 established patients each year.
